Is Your BMI Affecting Your Eligibility for FlexSculpt®?

Body Mass Index (BMI) is a measure that uses your height and weight to categorize you as underweight, normal weight, overweight, or obese. It’s a crucial factor in assessing your overall health and determining your suitability for medical procedures, including cosmetic surgeries like FlexSculpt® liposuction.

Why is BMI Important?

High BMI levels can increase the risk of complications during and after surgery, impact the effectiveness of the procedure, and affect the healing process. Ensuring your safety and achieving the best possible results are our top priorities.

Customized Approach Based on Your BMI

At Goals, we use a customized approach based on your BMI to ensure safe and effective treatments. Here’s a detailed breakdown of what to expect based on your BMI:

BMI Under 32:

  • Up to 12 areas can be treated, including front, back, and full 360-degree liposuction.
  • Lower BMI generally means fewer complications, allowing for a more extensive procedure.

BMI 32 - 38:

  • Up to 6 areas can be treated, either the full front or full back.
  • Moderate BMI requires careful selection of areas to ensure safety and optimal results.

BMI Over 38:

  • Up to 4 areas can be treated.
  • Higher BMI increases the risk of complications, so fewer areas are treated to ensure a safer procedure.

Arms and Chin:

  • These areas are not BMI-dependent and can be added on regardless of BMI.

Safety is Our Top Priority

At Goals, safety is our top priority. Here’s why a tailored approach based on your BMI is essential:
  • Higher BMI levels can lead to longer recovery times and a higher risk of complications.
  • Tailoring the FlexSculpt® package to your BMI ensures the procedure is safe and effective.
  • Higher BMI increases the risk of complications such as poor wound healing and infection.
  • Tailoring treatment areas ensures more precise fat removal and better results.
  • Limiting the number of treated areas helps manage recovery better, promoting quicker and smoother healing.

Worried About High BMI?

If your BMI is above 38, it does not mean you will be automatically disqualified from undergoing FlexSculpt®. However, a thorough evaluation will be conducted to ensure your safety and suitability for the procedure. Here’s what you can expect:
  • Each patient is evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
  • Your overall health, medical history, and specific circumstances will be considered.
  • Safety is our priority, and in some cases, we may recommend losing weight before the procedure to minimize risks.
